The word Bretwalda is derived from the AngloSaxon word Bretenwealda which means Lord Of Kings. Just like the Celts had High Kings, the Angles and Saxons usually recognized the supremacy of one king over the rest

In my many winters,
upon this wet and windswept coast,
I've seen kinsmen live and die,
so to those left I raise a toast.
As we drink by torchlight,
in high-gabled hallowed halls,
the boasts of fallen men,
still echo round these oken walls.
Though our tribes diminish,

our mail bright,

Follow the path of eagles,
as they fly to worlds up high,
so the souls of fallen men,

The oaths of Northern folk,
are borne upon the gale.

and deeds that have been done

a will of graven stone remains,
though Earthly forms my disappear.

Bretwaldas Of Heathen Doom started off as more of a drone and stoner band. The above lyrics are from an alb*m that is heavily influenced by Motorhead,the vocals even sound like Lemmy *
