Not quite ready to listen to latvian yet. But i will say that the way the sunwheel or by any of its other names seemingly being solely connected to the 's narcks me off. Cant stand things becoming taboo in that way *

It has a bit to do with some nationalist black metal bands I think. If you sing about european pride and history and use traditional symbols you are assumed to be a white supremacist.
Certain bands like Graveland are quite right wing.
Kinda the same way OI! was highjacked in the late 70s early 80s.

White Pride is also synonymous with Viking and Celtic imagery. *

Every alb*m is different by them Borae. Latviesu Strelnieki is definately daunting to a less versed listener of metal, but it sinks in the more you listen. At first, it was my least favourite. Now it's my equal favourite with Zobena Dziesma *

Latviesu Strelnieki - This song is just a tribute to the Latvian Riflemen. It is a traditional song the army are singing while they march at the beginning of the song *

Kauja Pie Plakaniem, Kauja Pie Veisiem - These were the first battles won by Latvian Riflemen on October 29 and November 23 1915, which helped to stop the advance of the German army for a while. The first company of the 1st Daugavgrva Riflemen Battalion lead by officer Fridrihs Briedis defeated German forces 4 times larger than themselves *

of 1916. Latvian battalions joined forces with the Russian units in a battle on an open field near Iecava village *

Naves Sala - From the Spring til the Autumn of 1916, the 2nd and 3rd battalions of the Latvian Riflemen, together with Russian units, were defending small fortifications on the left bank of the the Daugava river. There was the enemy in front, the river in the back and the open, rocky field on both sides. Germans attacked with poison gas and Riflemen took a heavy toll. Therefore the place has been called Death Island *

It was the largest assault of the Russian 12th army in which Latvian Riflemen bore the brunt. After week long fights the combat mission of winning back Machinegun Hill was fulfilled, but due to an inefficient action of Russian generals, more than five thousand Latvian Riflemen were killed *

Esat Ka Viri - After the Christmas battles, the rest wasn't long for Riflemen. On the 23rd of January, Germans started the offensive to capture back Machinegun Hill. Those were the bloodiest battles in the Riga front at that war *

shame. thing is, theyll still get it even with the change, even if people dont remember the old logo, reason being that, the 'o' in forger resembles an othlan/odal rune which also was heavily used by the riech. *
