Mithotyn was a folk metal/black
metal band from Mjlby, Sweden.

History
Formed in 1992 as a blackened death metal act under the name ''Cerberus'' by founding members;
Christian Christer Schtz, Stefan
Weinerhall who stayed with the band to the end, and Johan who left shortly afterward. After one year, they renamed themselves Mithotyn.

As Mithotyn, they would not release an alb*m until 1997.
Much of the material featured on the three albums of their career were previously composed or featured
on one of their previous demos
such as the song The Guardian
from Promo'96. The group released
three albums: In the Sign of the
Ravens followed by King of the
Distant Forest, and finishing with
Gathered Around the Oaken Table in
1999. Mithotyn officially dissolved in
1999 while Stefan Weinerhall and
Karsten Larsson eventually formed
Falconer.

I bought Mithotyn's first alb*m in 97... The music was amazing - it totally made u think of vikings...! But the lead vocals, I was not so fond of - horribly monotone black metal vocals..
However I recently got hold of their third alb*m and, while not sounding quite so viking as the first, is really cool and better, vocal wise - it is a lot more folky and has more of the deep clean vocals.. The bm vocals r still there but not so monotone and actually quite enjoyable....! :) *

fanks ok f personal use, but for setting up links it a bit pi*s poor, constant site closures making it inpractical. *

Yeah, that is a b*mmer.. However, while links to individual tracks on this site won't work, I think one could probably post a link to and alb*m or some such thing (if one were so inclined) and that would work.. *
